I've been challenged

A quilt friend challenged me yesterday to start blogging again. I can't believe it has been almost 18 months. I've been quilting off and but I allowed life to get in the way. Any who, I'm where now and hope you once again enjoy seeing my crafts.

In the UFO Queens group we are playing bingo and have filled our cards with names of our UFO's that need to be finished. The number called for January is G31. I'll be working on this gem...

This is a Happy Block quilt and is one I want to keep. The quilting was already started and just needs to be finished and bound. This is one of my goals this month.

Florida State Anyone?

Two quilts made for the property manager where I live. The first is a queen size and the second is a throw size. I had a blast coming up with the designs of these.

I Have a Secret...

I just received a box with a project that I just cant share, at least not for a couple off months. It is going to be a project that pushes my limits as a quilter. I hope to learn quite a few new way of doing things or learn for the first time some new techniques. Shall I tease you a bit with the fabric choices???? Should I??? Hmmmm, Yea I guess I can, but you just cant peak at the project, Sorry!

Do I have your interest peaked?? Yea I bet I do, but you will have to wait!!

Some Springtime Fun!

I love Springtime, who doesn't? I keep trying to come up with things to use for holidays which brings us to the month of March and St. Patrick's Day. I know I saw something like this somewhere on the net. (How many times have we said to ourselves, I know I saw that somewhere?) Anyway, I came up with this table-runner. It was very easy to make and then I used a green thread to do a FMQ stipple pattern. I really like how this one came out.

I am currently working on making the pattern to offer in my Craftsy store.

I already have a pattern up for a this Spring Butterfly and Flowers Mug Rug. This mug rug actually was made for a swap. I had a blast making this. I hope you will check me out.

My next post I plan on sharing with you the mug rugs I received from the mug rug swap...Happy Sewing!

Happy Fourth of July

While on Facebook today I came across two lovely quilts. I would very much like to make both of these quilts. The first one was posted by Quilters Club of America...

The other one was posted by Earth to Glass Canning...This one caught my eye because of the cool quilting on it. See the Wheat stalks, soooo cool.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful day celebrating the Fourth of July. Special thank you to all the men and women who have given of themselves to protect our great nation.

Thanksgiving Quilt

Back in November, a group I was in did a swap of 2.5 in strips all in the thanksgiving/harvest theme. I search for several day for a pattern to use for the strips. I soon found this pattern called box in a square. I had multiple strips of the same turkey fabric so used those as the box and all the other themed strips to make the squares. This is a really easy patter to make with a Jelly Roll. This one is sitting in the UFO pile awaiting its turn.

So now what to do with all those Christmas strips. I have a ton of those and just havnt come across a pattern that just hits me like this one did. One day it will "hit" me.

One to the next.

Its been a long time...but Im back.

I have been quilting all along since my last post. Life just got the best of us with hubbies stroke. I have been sewing to try to keep my sanity. Its been a rough few months, but things seem to be settling down and I can get back to blogging. Thanks for hanging with me.

I have to catch you up on what I have been sewing. Lots of posts to come in the upcoming days.

First up is the Rick Rack Nines from Bonnie Hunters Leaders and Enders book. I love how this one came out. I made a boo boo tho, I one day just started sewing 2.5 in squares together thinking oh Ill just throw these into something later. I finally decided I had enough 9-patches, so decided to look and see what pattern would use them. Saw the picture of the Rick Rack Nines and said oh Ill do this one. Well guess what size squares that pattern calls for 2 in. Yup you read that right!! So off I went to make this work with the 9-patches I had already sewn. I had to adapt the pattern but finally figured it out and here it is. Yea Me!

Until next time, keep sewing.
