Been A While

It has been a little while since I posted. After my daughters surgery and then a 5 day stay in the hospital with my husband after having chest pains, we are settling down. Thanks to everyone who purchased items to help. I have been in touch with you all and your items are on the way shortly. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

I have been sewing like a mad woman the past couple of days. Boy have I missed my sewing machine!!

I found this tutorial of how to make a Dish Rug. I made 4.

Remember the Beefing up the Stash post?? Here are the blacks, whites, and grey's this lady already had cut.

I sewed them together and here is what I got, then bordered with red.

I also pieces this backing out of all the red fabric pieces I received.

Been busy here!! Now trying to catch up on some swaps. That's the goal and will post more as I finish!!

Pinterest Concerns...ugh

Why cant things be just fun and not all this legal jargon? I have to say I am guilty of not reading all the fine print.  Unfortunately I will be deleting my account from Pinterest. I certainly cannot afford to be in trouble because  I use the site. Here are a couple of links to information about why people are withdrawing from Pinterest. (this link is now dead..sorry for the inconvenience)

Beefing Up My Stash

A member of our guild passed away and the family wanted her quilty family to have all of her sewing stuffs. Oh My Gosh, She had so much stuff. I think she was a quilter for over 50 years. We have all taken what we wanted and there is still three full bookshelves, 50 bolts of fabric and sewing notions of all kinds. We decided that it would be used up with our charity quilts.

I have to show you what I ended up with. I just picked up 1 bag and three of the smaller boxes.

One box is completely full of Black and White fabrics. From sizes of 5 in all the way to 1/2 yard pieces.

There where 15 red fabrics probably a half a yard each.

These 4 sweet little blue fat quarters.

All these Strings.

A Dollar General bag full of 1.5in pieces...YES!!

All these nickles.

There are these sweet blocks. I think they are a form of Log Cabin.

These two stars.

These three ready made star blocks

Im not sure what these are called but are all 30's fabrics.

Red Diamonds, All different shades.

And lastly, these blocks. I think these would make great pillows.

I also picked up 7 pillow forms and 8 large spools of thread for piecing, and 18 large spools of 40 weight quilters thread. My head is swimming with all the fun I can have with these fabrics....Whew!!

I Spy a Quilt Finished!!!

Finally finished the I Spy quilt I started back before my shoulder surgery in December. I followed this Tutorial. It was a really cool way to make a really cute quilt. I started out with 6.5in blocks and cut them into 4 smaller blocks and use those to make the 9 patches.
